THE PAWSH DOG TRAINING
ACADEMY INSTRUCTORS

The Pawsh Dog Training Academy is proud to have some of the most accomplished dog trainers in Winnipeg.

Whether you have a new puppy that needs to learn basic dog obedience skills and manners, or you’re getting your dog involved in competition training and handling classes, The Pawsh Dog Training Academy has a variety of fun and engaging training classes to help you and your dog get the very best education.

Julie Skuba

Julie is an incredibly accomplished dog trainer here in Winnipeg with numerous titles under her belt. But, she is perhaps most proud of having trained the only dog in Canada to ever achieve both Grand Master Obedience Trial Champion AND Grand Champion Excellent titles. Something yet to be duplicated.

Despite her accomplishments, Julie does strives to learn more. She regularly attends various seminars, conferences and workshops. Her favorites are the Bailey-Farhoody Operant Conditioning Workshops and the Karen Pryor Clicker Expo.

“I believe positive training methods can yield amazing dog training results. I enjoy helping new puppy and dog owners learn positive, effective and enjoyable training strategies that get their team off to a good start.”

When Julie isn’t training, or off to another dog show, she enjoys spending time with her 3 beautiful Belgian Tervuren, going on long back-field hikes and adventures.

Debra Robertson

With over 35 years of experience instructing and coaching dog obedience training, Debra Robertson and her dogs have achieved over 40 CKC and AKC titles including 3 CKC Obedience Trial Champions and 3 CKC Conformation Champions.

Debra is also a proud recipient of multiple awards and medals from the Governor General of Canada and several Lieutenant Governor’s of Manitoba on behalf of the Order of The Hospital of St John of Jerusalem for her contribution of being a Provincial evaluator and for her assistance of the launch of the St John Therapy Dog program in Saskatchewan!

“I love it when students/clients get the responses from their dog that they are training for.  Once they believe they can train their dog themselves, I love their reactions. Trained dogs usually stay out of the pounds and rescues.”

Debra is also a passionate volunteer, having been on the board of directors for the German Shepherd Dog Club of Manitoba, Manitoba Junior Kennel Club as the obedience representative, St. Johns Ambulance Therapy Dog Program as Provincial Evaluator and she is currently the performance coordinator for The Papillion Club of Canada.
